Capcom announces Street Fighter 3 Third Strike for PSN and XBLA


Capcom's Yoshinori Ono announced an online version of Street Fighter 3 Third Strike will be released. The game will feature online championship modes. It will be built from the ground up entirely to take full advantage of the Online capabilities of the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. He also said they will take their time on the port to ensure the highest quality. Expect a downloadable version for PSN and XBLA sometime early next year.

Cave announces its latest Shmup Akai Katana


Cave announced that its latest Shmup Akai Katana will be shown later this month at the HEY! Arcade in Akihabara Japan. The game features 1950's Retro Mecha Designs and Horizontial Scrolling Shooting. The game is expected out in Arcades later this summer with a Xbox 360 release sometime in the near future. A Few videos can be seen here showing off Artwork and Rendering.

Dodonpachi DaiFukkatsu announced for Iphone , Ipod touch , Ipad


Cave has announced a port of their Arcade shmup Dodonpachi Dai Fukkatsu will be released on the Iphone , Ipod touch , and Ipad. Like the previous game Cave released earlier this year Espgaluda 2 , this will be a port from the SH-3 original PCB which will include special touch gameplay and ARRANGE modes. Expect a $9.99 price tag when released later this summer.

DeathSmiles receiving Platinum Release in JAPAN April 8th MEGA BLACK LABEL ON DISC


Cave announced the Xbox 360 game Death Smiles will be receiving a Platinum Hits rerelease in Japan on April 8th. The game will also include the DLC voice track as well as MEGA BLACK LABEL. Also Cave announced that in April MEGA BLACK LABEL version 1.01 will be released on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Taito releasing Raystorm remake on XBLA and PS3


Taito announced they will be releasing a port of the Arcade game Raystorm on Xbox Live Arcade and PSN. The game will feature Updated HD visuals , Online replay upload, and online score rankings. The game will be released later in the Spring.

Guwange coming to XBLA later this year!



Cave announced at the Shooting FESTA that the Arcade game Guwange will be coming home to Xbox Live Arcade. It will include 3 modes: Arcade, Cave Festival "Blue" Version (only playable once at a Cave festival a few years back), and a new Arrange mode that uses dual stick control.

Ketsui EX coming out April 22nd FINALLY on Xbox 360


5pb announced that the Arcade shooter Ketsui EX will be released on the Japanese 360 April 22nd in Japan. The game will feature original arcade mode as well as a EXTRA mode. It was announced that the game will be a accurate port and will be as close to arcade original as possible. Get your Arcade sticks ready!

Senko No Ronde Dis United Order Xbox 360 coming out April 28th in Japan


G Revolution announced that its hybrid fighter / shooter Type X game Senko No Ronde Duo will be receive a port on Xbox 360 April 28th. The game will feature upgraded graphics and a NETWORK mode for onlike versus battles. It was also feature online leaderboards. The game is set for release April 28th in Japan.

DeathSmiles 2 X Cover art posted game releases May 27th on Xbox 360


DeathSmiles 2 X Cover art was released over the weekend. The game will be released on Japanese Xbox 360 May 27th. The game features -7 stages total (2 more than the arcade version) , 2 new characters (Follett and Rosa) ,Updated graphics (16:9 mode), New bosses,There will be a LE with a remixed soundtrack!

The year in review 2009 XBLA Arcade ports.


Seems like 2009 was not so kind to the Shmup Arcade port on XBLA. They only allowed heavy hitting fighters from SNK and Capcom to be released. I am hoping with the announcement of Microsoft game room more SHMUP games should be released by most of the Japanese Developers I am guessing. Pray for releases of Guwange, Muchi Muchi Pork and Under Defeat on the XBLA. Here are some of the better games that were released in 2009.

Outrun Online Arcade Coming to XBLA and PSN soon


Outrun Online Arcade was announced for the XBLA and PSN services. The game is exclusive to Xbox Live in the USA. It will be developed by Sumo Digital who also developed the Arcade Chihiro Board, PS2, PSP and Xbox versions. Features include 15 courses across the USA and 10 licensed Ferrari cars. It also supports online racing for six players in three different modes.

Death Smiles coming along as graphics update nears completion


Death Smiles is sure to be released sometime in the next 2 months and the producer released these new screen shots to show off the graphical improvements. The game will include Arrange and Original modes as well as Online Co-Op. There will be a Regular ($69) and a Limited Edition ($89)which will include the game soundtrack.

Strikers 1945 Plus Receiving a PSP port in Febuary


X-Nauts continues to pillage the corpse of Psikyo and brings us a Port of the Neo Geo Game Strikers 1945 Plus to the Playstation Portable in Febuary. The game features vertical shooting on a horizontial screen unlike the other Strikers 1945 Arcade releases. Perhaps a Strikers 1999 release is in order?

Super Street Fighter 2 HD remix will be released next week! November 26th


Capcom announced that Super Street Fighter 2 HD remix will be released next week! November 26th on the Xbox Live Arcade and November 27th on the PSN. Pricing for the game is unavailible but will probally be premium priced at $15. Game includes online versus , score ranking and leaderboards.

Under Defeat receiving Xbox 360 Arcade port


Grev. announced that the Naomi / Dreamcast game Under Defeat will be receiving a Xbox 360 port. Game will feature HD graphics and online modes. The game will be released sometime in the near future.

Shooting Love 200X receives a release date in the Spring


Triangle Service announced the Shooting Love 200X would be released on Febuary 19th 2009 on Xbox 360 in Japan. The game will include Trizeal Remix, Shmup Skills Test , And Exzeal on one DVD.

Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix completed screens released


Capcom announced that Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix has completed development and has been submitted to Sony and Microsoft for release on thier PSN and XBLA services respectively. They said there were aiming for a November release so look forward to this game and enjoy the screenshots below in the time being.
